Kroondal Congregation
The Deutsche Evangelisch Lutherische Kirche Kroondal is situated in Kroondal, near Rustenburg, North West Province. It was founded by a German speaking farming community in 1896, but has evolved into a bilingual congregation (German/Afrikaans) which embraces the changes and challenges, brought on by the ever growing mines surrounding it. The congregation is actively involved in the Deutsche Schule Kroondal and Altkroondal Old Age Home, for which the annual Kroondaler Basar is held, as major fundraiser. Furthermore, bible study gatherings, the brass band and choir and outreaches to the community are, amongst others, important aspects in the congregational everyday life. For younger members, youth gatherings are held mostly once every second week (Jungschar (Grades 1-3); Kleine Jugend (Grades 4-7); Grosse Jugend (Grades 8 – 12).
We heartily invite every visitor to join us in fellowship and worship. |
