Verden Dundee Congregation
The Verden-Dundee Congregation in Northern Kwazulu-Natal, is a small, yet active, English/ German congregation in Elandskraal and Dundee, and so has come to embody the spirit of Matthew 18:20: “For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”
The congregation in Elandskraal (Verden) was founded after German missionaries from the Hermannsburg Mission established a mission station in the area. In 1925, the beautiful sandstone ‘Immanuel’ Church in Elandskraal was completed. In the 1970s, with many congregants moving to the town of Dundee, the church in Dundee was built, and on Pentecost 1977, the ‘Christus-Erlöser’ Church was consecrated. Regular services are still held in both venues. Feel free to get in contact with us should you like to attend one of our services – we are always glad to have guests join us. |
